And it's double as good - because I just replayed this classic with a friend last Sunday!

Took me some time to recall the name... it's Elevator Action 2 from Taito!

IIRC there're two or three characters to choose from, and your mission is to enter all the red doors on the level, then move to extraction point. Blue doors are optional, and contains power-ups and stuff. Enemies will keep pouring from the green doors so you can't stay still for long, and the buildings are full of hazards too.

And nothing hurts more than being crushed by an elevator controlled by your partner!

Edit: You say it's not ported to consoles only until recently? The game's on a classic collection disc for PS2...

That disc only came out recently. I have it on PC. It's called Elevator Action Returns on it though.
