Hi, I've been playing Civ 4 now since the game came out, and I've noticed a few ..odd things.. going on with the game. I'm mostly wondering if I am alone when I get these videos problems - the most annoying one being that if I zoom out far enough, the entire screen fuzzes out, and I can see nothing but a sea of blue/yellow streaks. if I zoom in close enough, the map reverts back to normal, but the mini-map will never be normal again, unless I restart.
Also, no mod seems to work on Civ 4 for me. I've downloaded extra civ's and the 'great person' pop-up (which I really hope Firaxis will implement in a patch). Even though the mods do show up in my 'load a mod' section, and the game successfully restarts, no changes actually occur..
Lastly, the game runs unusually slow for a computer like mine. This game is consistently laggy the whole time, and I often have to save and restart the game, as the games seem to degrade worse throughout the match. My specs are:
AMD64 3000+ (OC'ed 700Mhz above)
2gb DDR RAM (3200)
BFG 6800GT OC 256mb
2x Samsung 80gb 7200rpm (RAID 0)
It really doesnt seem like my computer should be running this game slow, and yet, I had to turn off many graphical options just so the game didn't run like a slideshow. Seems kinda odd, since there are many other games I can run at full everything (FEAR, Battlefield 2..) and I won't see a moment of lag..
Are any of these things happening to other players? And if so, anyone know whats going on?
