vmware

i have switched my pc to linux and hoped to be able to play civ 4 in vmware. i can install civ 4 without a problem. but when i start the game i am prompted to insert the cd. the original cd, i have installed from, is inserted and accessible.

has any one a clue how to get around this, i guess it's some copy protection causing this problem.

get a nocd crack. And google a bit, I have seen some forums (not civfanatics) where people reported successfully playing with hints offered.

It won't work. VMWare doesn't support 3D Accelleration at all, so it sure as hell won't support the HW T&L and Pixel Shaders required to run the game aswell.

OK, let me rephrase, I have read people successfully playing with linux. I don't know whether they used vmware or whatever else there can be.
