Just ahead- there in the moonlight.
HI all- I`m using Windows 98 and while it seems to be functioning normally, there have been some changes in the on-screen appearance that I can`t explain.

The changes are on some of the "buttons"- for example those buttons to resize or close at the top right of the program window have changed. Now the minimize button has a zero on it, the resize button has the numeral 2 on it and the close button has the letter r. In addition, buttons that opena drop-down menu (suah as in Internet Explorer) have the numeral 6 on them.

Anyone seen this or something like it before?

yes

Try deleting the (hidden) file ttfCache in the windows directory, (you'll need to restart windows after) but first check that the marlett font is installed. :)
