Has anyone actually pushed it?

Just won a space victory and I can add that along with the culture victory to all of the other things I'll only ever do once.

Yeah. I won every victory type in a single game on one of my first playthroughs. :(

The "actual" victory was Space Race in 1939... then I finished the Utopia Project, founded the UN (everyone but France voted for me), and then sacked the remaining capitals prior to 2050. So: science, culture, diplomacy, military, and time-limit victories in one game.

I started a game in the future era and had achieved a space victory in about 40 turns. I had hardly interacted with the other civs so I hit the button. I played for about 5 more minutes and decided I never needed to do that again.

That's cool Jay, the Total Victory. While I respect your achievement I think I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a burnt stick than replicate it

I did it in my last game. England was the last civ and had 4 cities left. The second one I took was the capital, and it just seemed wrong to not completely cover the map in my colors, so I hit one more turn to take the two remaining cities.

Yeah, it wasn't even intentional, that's the sort of sad part. It was one of my very first complete playthroughs, so I continued after the science victory just to see more late-game units, techs, and social policies. By that point I was so dominant that every other victory condition was in easy reach, so I figured I might as well see if it was feasible.

Since then, I've ended every game at the victory screen or just abandoned them (deliberately or through boredom) prior to finishing.

Space victory is BORING in this game. I always use the One more turn button. I don't consider the game finished until I've got legions of battle robots cleaning up surviving civs.

It still only records the first score, though, right?

Correct. As far as Civ is concerned, the space race was the actual 'victory,' and beyond that nothing counted for score.

I did get the Steam achievement for the Domination Victory when I sacked the remaining capitals, oddly enough.

I was tempted to keep going in my last game. I won by diplomacy, which we all know is pretty cheap (though expensive...ah, the delicious irony), so I was tempted to go on and build Utopia. In the end, though, the ending came a time that made sense. I'd just won a war started by Persia that I'd persecuted to liberate a formerly allied city-state, so with their hard-won loyalty winning the game in the post-war era, I thought the UN vote actually felt pretty appropriate for once. (Of course, I bribed two more city-states at the last minute just to pad my total pool of allies, too.)

I did it once, just to unlock the autocracy culture policy... for the achievement.
I won as India, and for the next 100 turns i stored up culture and then use it for the policy.

Hell no. The last thing I wanted to do the few times I managed to play all the way to the victory screen was keep playing.

Achieving victory in this game is probably the least rewarding experience I have ever had in a video game. It takes hours of "next turn" clicking to achieve it and you get to look at a crappy picture.

I honestly don't think they will be able to improve this enough with patches to overcome the huge mid and late game issues they face.
