Walk of Game - VOTE FOR SID & CIVILIZATION!

I personally hate all the FF games. I don't understand why so many people like that game.

If anyone is interested. I created a program which will autofill in the fields so you can post a vote every 20 seconds with a dif. email addres from mailinator. IF anyone's interested send me an email Mason11987(~AT~)gmail(`DOT`)com. It's not full proof, but if should work just fine.

will only work with FireFox for now and it requires your computer to have that page in focus (on top), and not doing anything else while it goes. You can stop it whenever you like.

If enough IE-only users want me to change it so that it also supports IE, then I will (but you really should be using firefox anyways).

To CIVILIZATION!

edit - In the half hour that I've been testing this for, civ went up .2%. Now I dunno how many other votes effected it, but I know my dozens did. I'm going to run it when I go to my hour-15 minute class, and then see the change :).

Bah. If I were Sid and I knew I won becasue a few of my fans cheated by running scripts the victory would be hollow and meaningless.

Come on, if the game can't win honestly in this poll, just maybe it doesn't deserve it. I'd like to think the victory is because of dedicated fans - not because someone wrote a cheatbot.

Yeah, I figured the same thing. That's why I haven't run it much. More of a fun test to see if I could make an impact, and a few hours brought it up a couple tenths of a percent, so I'm sure it coudl. But I'm going to let it run it's course. I really don't believe everquest deserves the spot over the FF series. There is no question that FF is better then everquest. And the rate that it's gone up makes me think someone else is doing the same for that. But I'm not going to actually.

What if the fans of other games cheat too?;)

Then the game is not worth playing. Two wrongs do not make a right.

The voting server's down.

Oh well, means that no one else can vote. :mischief:

This poll is largely meaningless. I know Sony have a link to vote for Everquest on their site and their games have over a million subscribers, so it's not surprising to see it in the lead.

Civilization is a huge franchise with lots of fans, but let's face it - a lot of those people don't visit gaming websites or know this poll exists.

I don't typically post to sites - or visit gaming websites, but figured since Sid has brought me hours/years of fun since the original - I figured it was the least I could do...will vote daily probably to no avail.

Reminds me of being a Parrothead - no front page news, no big hits on MTV, just a ton of fun music and good times...

Well I just voted and will keep it up each day until the end of the month.

Cheers, Ice:cool:

I don't trust the voting system. It's very unbelievable that the 11 lowest scoring games only vary 1.3 % point (between 9.9% and 11.2%). It's very atypical for this type of voting. One would expect a few games to get all the votes and the rest to get nearly nothing and a few scoring inbetween. I think they are using some averaging system to calculate the percentages so that people keep voting because their game is not too far behind.

edit: I'm still voting by the way, but don't trust it at all.

I have already voted for Sid. Also for Civilization. Although I struggled hard between Doom and Civilization. Both were important milestones.

It's because everyone has to pick four games, so everybody who's voting for one specific game only (for examle most of the people here at CFC) also have to pick three other games, so most people vote for three of the lowest games on the list, which is what balances it out. :)

Could be. But if that is true, than it also shows that the votes mean nothing.

Sorry to say that but John Carmack and Doom were the big bang that started the evolution of gaming that we know today. Anyways, my voice won't be heard since I am to lazy to register ;)
