Is there any standalone mod for those "old" additional resources like salt etc, that would work with BTS? I tried mini-mods like 7res, 8res and so on - all of those results with error messages when the game tried to override files. I miss those resources a lot from the time I played basic Civ IV version. Anyone can help, please?

First off, welcome to the forums!

As to your question, I did a bit of searching (as you probably have too), and all I could find was a few odds and ends; beehives, some wood, and a new cow, etc. I have no graphical modding experience, otherwise I'd help you out! Sorry. Hopefully someone is working on some new resource for the Epic Game. :)

Looks like this someone will be me... I did managed to add resources in bare Civ IV, but in BTS it is somewhat more difficult. So far, 3 modified xms and a fonts files isn't enough. The whole fun is discovering where Firaxis put additional definitions, that weren't used before.

Yeah, as a modder myself (adding events to Final Frontier), it can definitely be a challenge to find where the programmers put all the little bits! :) I'm glad you're tackling this, and please post your finished product so we can all enjoy more resources in the Epic Game! :D

I was able to make some working wersion. I took Rise of Mankind mod, pulled some files out (civilopedia, fonts), and copied some of the objects from RoM to the original file. It works so far, meaning the mini-mod is loading and game is running, it properly sees modifications, and adds resources to the city menu. It still needs some removals, there is too much unnecessary residue codes from RoM, but at least a play is possible. I guess I should play it now a little, to be sure nothing is missing, and maybe adding few (just few) more resources from other mods, like amber, and tobacco (which is, I believe, disabled in RoM). And it needs to link resources to the units and perhaps buildings too...

Wow, you're really making some progress! I'm really looking forward to this, and I might even be able to use some in my Final Frontier mod (with your permission, of course!).

Do you have them set up just like the regular resources? And yeah, you're probably right; it'd be cool if you linked them to some buildings-- maybe even something simple, like it would speed the production by 50% or whatever. In any case, keep up the good work! :goodjob:

I don't think I am at the position of giving any permissions - this mod uses fonts files and Civilopedia entries made by someone else. Meaning - when it will be ready, feel free to use it. As for resources - they are added to the list of regular ones, and the game don't see the difference between new or old ones.
