Warlord maps (Clean)

Probably is, all i do is make them clean with no CIVs and other things on them and use them, but i am pretty sure i did ask you to use it. In fact i use your VIM also, and again thx for letting people use YOUR stuff.
Again if you look at the first line in the 1st post it does state NONE are mine.

EDIT: Also i have added in post # 8, your tutorial thread, OK?

EDIT< EDIT: OK Thamis i added your name to the Early Civs. , OK!!!

Is it possible to remove whatever it is in some maps that has disabled some leaders of civilizations?

I enjoyed the Radical maps and Rhyes Earth maps, but I found their limitating the choices of leaders to be extremely annoying to the point I couldn't be bothered to play them any longer.

To see those maps devoid of such limitations would make them perfect. I for one enjoy playing Bismark of the Germans, not Fredrick. The same can be said of Ghandi vs Asoka.

And I know you're very busy cleaning maps ( which rocks btw ) so even if you could just drop a line describing how I could open up the options to choose leaders again would be most appreciated.

Just loaded up your small maps, and it's a clean version with all the Leaders available of the Radical Map series, you sir are my hero!! :king:

Well then i take it you got what you needed, and in your previous post, you will need "clean" versions to be able to pick the Leader(s) you want. And thx for the good comments.:goodjob:
Like i state in one of my post someplace, if you need a map, just let me know and i will try and get it to you ok.

If you get really bored check out some of my ARTwork maps.

Question, With a "Clean" map are starting locations pre-determined. In other words if I grab one of the earth one's will I start in the correct location for my chosen Civ?

In simple terms, NO. But there are some clean maps that have starting locations on them, most of mine will say if they have starting locations, but thats about all i will add to them. Everything else is up to the player to work with and the way THEY want it to be, in the WB.

I'll check the web and drop the starting locations on the Earth maps to be as accurate as possible for myself. I just really enjoy being able to choose whichever leader I'd like to play, rather than have it limited. I for one bought Warlords because they put in more leaders, primarily Stalin, who I felt was a glaring ommission from previous versions. I can't recall him being in one since the original DOS based Civilization.

As it is, I think the average Civ is easy enough to determine it's starting locale, except the Celts who I really have no general idea where they should be. Hence the joy of Google :)

Hey StrategyO, any chance it'd be possible to enable 24 Civs on your Standard Size Earth Map?

U.

*edit*

Ok, I had figured on just entering the world map editor, then placing the starting cities down on your Standard Map - Earth for wherever they should start, it's not going as smooth as I'd hoped, because of course I have to go and delete all the starting units, and it still leaves those areas explored for every civilzation. Argh lol. Do you happen to have this map with starting points already on them? Love the nice not too large size you have for the map, and relatively even resources. For now I'll try deleting all units first, then dropping down cities in traditional starting locales, and see how it goes.

In plain terms, NO. The only wat you are going to get that is the way you said, do it yourself, in the WBS. If i place a Civ someplace, it might not be the place someone else likes to start, just like in the USA, most people start in Washington, DC area, i for one do not like that area, i like to start just south of the Texan border. So i guesss what i am saying is, its all about taste and what "YOU" want as a player, but the main thing isjust to have "FUN."
If you cant get the starting point down or the game to work correctly after you do, just ask the forum, somewill help, sooner or later. ANd again thx for the kind words.:goodjob:
EDIT: If you play on the 24 Civ map it will really bog down late in the game if you have under a 3GZ, 256 Graphics Card with 2G of memory.

I actually managed to get it to save properly with 18 Civs in their traditional starting locales. I used your Standard Earth Clean Map, and removed America, the Aztecs and Incans, and didn't add in the Celts, Vikings, or Ottomans.

This left me with -

Arabia
Carthage
China
Egypt
England
France
Germany
Greek
India
Japan
Korea
Malinese
Mongolia
Persia
Roman
Russia
Spain
Zulu

I regret not having room for the Ottomans, but it does leave more options for Persia and Arabia to make a mark for themselves in that area. Thus far, all seems to be running smoothly, with England and Spain colonizing the "New World" and fighting back the Barbarian's I placed all along the West Coast of N.A.

Great map! I'm just finishing adding civs and start points for a warlords 18 civ earth. I assume you don't mind if I post it? Of course I'll give you due credit on the thread.
