I apologize if I am missing something stupid.

In the manual, it states that I should be able to get my vassal to give me resources, even if he has only one of that type.

In this game, Fredrick and Tokugawa (Team Two) have capitulated to Team One, of whom I am one member.

When I pull up the dialog for trade, Both of my vassals show that they have no resources to trade, and that they are not trading with anyone. (no option to cancel trade) (See Image One)

Obviously, Fredrick has plenty of resources, (See Image Two,) including duplicates. The dialog is the same for Tokugawa, and from the dialogs by the other teammate.

Thanks
jk

You can only ask for resources that you don't already have.
Perhaps that's the case? A save couldn't hurt.

Here are two more screenshots. I started the game and joined as Fredrick. In The first Screenshot, you can see a city that has a gold resource, its mined and roaded, but the city does not have any gold luxury available.

The second screenshot is the active trade list, which shows no resources being exported.

I have uploaded the save as well, no passwd.

Hmm, I could not see anything wrong.
The gold is not available in your screenshot because Germany (Jeff) is already exporting it to Dave.

Gold was a bad example -- the turn incremented after I took over the germans from the save game, and the AI (having taken over the ottomans, demanded the and took the gold)

Looking at the first image in the original message (My dialog with the Germans as the English) I see no available resources, and no option to 'stop trading with'

Which I took to mean, he has no active trades, and no available resources I could take.

However, looking at the 'active trades' screenshot (the fourth image) Japan is getting Gold, Whale, and Clam from Germany - active trades that could be cancelled are keeping resources that could be given to the master states from showing up on the list.

In theory, should I not see those as an option to "stop trading with" Japan?

Though, I'm guessing, since whale is the only one that I need, the reason its not showing is that it has been obsoleted.

Sigh. Sorry.
