ok I have some kind of bug / glitch I have reported several times on the main support site and generally get "update your drivers" as a response (which never helps ) well now I have a brand spanking new NVidea 9600 GT and still have the problem (s) which are minor compared to some on here but still cause frustration and effect the enjoyability of playing the game . I *think* I got these problems with Warlords but it mightve been Beyond The Sword . anyway my workers , when automated , build forts on my resources & luxuries ( corn , gems ,iron etc ) even if I go back and redo the farm / mine / plantation / whatever the automated workers make it a point to go back and build another fort *rolls eyes* my other issue is having civs that declare war on me even after declaring war are still "friendly" or " pleased" ( I have several screenshots of these) **and** as an added bonus I get without fail 5 civs declare war on me simultaneously EVERY SINGLE GAME ( reguardless of any relationship factors) I think its usually around 350 BC if that may be an important clue I could start taking notes . Anyway it would be nice if somebody could figure out the problem :D and I know its a lengthy post so thanks for taking the time to read it ~Melissa

1) forts are NOT bad on a resource - ever since warlords forts connect the resource - and if it is not workable by a city this is the correct improvement for the auto-worker to chose since it adds a defense bonus
2) the war attitude could always be quite good since the "this war spoils our relations" modifier takes a while to build up - which leads to
3) the Apostolic Palace can declare a crusade against you and is the most common factor in having a large number of AIs - some of them friendly gang up on you...

as far as I can tell there are no bugs here...

Welcome to the forums :)

well thats a relief to know they still get the goods even when the workers tear down the mine/farm whatever and build forts over them , I never wouldve thought it would count that way so I didnt bother to check ( and does that take away from the + :) with mine or + health / farm type bonuses ?) the war thing is **always** centuries before anybody gets even close to building the apocalptic palace , so thats definitely not the issue with that , I think its possible the AI civs can influence the other AI civs to wage war on the player without regard to the "we couldn't betray our close friends " or "we would have nothing to gain " that the player would get if relationships were reversed .. does that sound about right ? or maybe I get a resource and those civs get the "greed" quest LOL anyway thanks for responding :) ~Melissa

oh and thank you its a very informative forum (try sayin that 5 times fast ) wish I couldve found it sooner lol

the fort thing was a change in warlords - and not well documented. If you go back to around the release time of warlords you'll see that every second or so bug report here was exactly this point... There is no downside to putting a fort on a resource in Warlords and BtS - except that you do not get the production bonus for the right improvement on that tile. This means: if a city can work the tile - the fort is not ideal (though sometimes worth it to defend the resource) - if no city can work the tile - its better to put a fort on it than another improvement. You do get all :) and :health: bonuses either way.
If the war thing happens again just post a save (preferably one from before the war is declared - an autosave for example) :)
