Hi,

Has a decision been made yet on whether the next WOTM will require the new warlords patch (version 2.08)? Just wondering whether to install it or not.

Thanks

WOTM03 will require patch 2.08 yes

Does anyone have advice on how to do multiple installs of Warlords? I have a number of games in progress under The original Warlords version, using HOF mods _001 and _002. I figure games under those mods may not work in Warlords 2_08_001.

Would it be better to duplicate the whole "Sid Meier's Civilization IV" directory, or will duplicating the "Warlords" directory within the Civ IV directory suffice? And what about the Warlords directory in "My Games"?

I know there was a recommendation regarding maintaining old versions of Civilization IV. I'm wondering if a similar process will work for Warlords?

Thanks!

You just need to duplicate the warlords directory (and you prolly want to rename the entry under My Games so it is called the same as the v200 copy you make)

Thanks! I'll do it that way.

I can't play any WOTM games, when i load the mod I get a error and a shut down with sens error message to Microsoft.

What to do am at a lost.............

You are going to have to give us a little more to work with. ;)

Try this:
  • go into your My Game\Warlords folder and modify the following settings in the CivilizationIV.ini file.
    Code:
    ; Set to 1 for no python exception popups
    HidePythonExceptions = 0

    ; Enable the logging system
    LoggingEnabled = 1

    ; Overwrite old network and message logs
    OverwriteLogs = 1

    ; Enable message logging
    MessageLog = 1
  • Open Warlords
  • go to the Advanced menu and load the HOF-2.08.01 (WOTM03).
  • try loading WOTM03
When it crashes, stop and zip up and e-mail the contents of the My Games\Warlords\logs folder to the e-mail address in my signature.

Hopefully we will be able to find out what is going on.

When I first read this I thought great that will solve my problems. However, after some thought I am wondering if that will work.

Correct me if I am wrong but the v2.0.8 patch fixes the executable, which is located in the Programs\FiraxisGames\Sid Meier's Civilization\*.exe. Or is that controlled by the initialization (ini) process or the dll file or what? I am :confused:

It seems like it might work with the HOF or the mod 2.00.001 or 2.00.002 with the v2.0.x fix. But the 2.00.001 does not run with the v2.08 (atleast I think that is where my problem are with the v2.0.8 patch). :crazyeye: :confused:

I am having trouble running the Warlords v2.08 fix. And futhermore I don't like the way it changed the route to COL. You now have to research Math after Writing, before COL, which sucks. As if the AI didn't already have enough of a techno jump. :cry:

Help me please!!!!!

A complete explaination would help. Something with enough detail to explain the inner workings of the executable and it's interaction with the mod files.
