WarNES1: The Coming

Turn 4 - 1320 AA

Amorfal has become a Vassal Kingdom to Tarakfal. This has wide spread reprucussions. The land of Amorfal belongs to the King only in name. The military of Amorfal belongs to him, but the governing of the land and economy of Amorfal lies in Tarakfal hands. Many begin to wonder if Amorfal will exist at all once the reigning King dies. The large amount of land however has begun to be hard to manage as it takes weeks to go from one end of the kingdom to the other on horse.

The king of Amorfal brings his army to the forests of Catalia and wages war upon them. Catalia however does not view this as an act of war by Tarakfal, but rather a renagade. They dispatch their forces against the King and he is quickly defeated. His horsemen are bogged down in the forests an only their superior skill saves the day. After the initial defeat the Kign attacks agian and overruns the defenses. He has swept down to the former border and has reclaimed much land for Tarakfal. The King's scouts have detected grasslands heading on for hundreds of miles to the southeast. It leads directly to the only Catalian city outisde of their protective forests.

King of Amorfal: -500 Human Horsemen, -700 Warriors, -200 Raiders, -200 Archers
Catalia: -1250 Elvish Archers, -500 Warriors

Tarakfal now seemingly doesn't send troops to fight agaisnt the Goblins. They continue to raid village after village and head up north. They have reached the first city and undefended it will fall. Locals worried that no Tarak army will ever come have begun to gain distrust in the Tarak king further damaging the bonds that tie the two nations together. The Goblins continue to grow power in the region surrounding them and can now threaten Catalia.

The war between Na-Fonar and Illoria has begun to heat up rapidly. The Dwarves have struck out of the mountains nad captured an undefended city. Without reinforcements or any defense at all the city siply surrendered. This is a crushing blow to the Illorian morale. When news arrived just as the time the two armies prepared to face off in the moutnains, the Elves were heart-stricken. They were completly demoralized. The entire Illorian army, which launched the attack, suffered larger casualties than expected. The Dwarven forces were however defeated not only through superior numbers but the use of rockslides.

Na-Fonar: -1500 Dwarven Warriors
Illoria: -700 Raiders, -500 Warriors, -100 Elven Archers

The Davanian King has died, his son has taken the throne. He has brought reforms to the nation and has ended military build-up. Davania is going to attempt to reach a golden age, but it will be hard. Davania hopes that it can settle it's differences with Illoria to counter the new human threat.

From Davania
To Na-Fonar:

We weren't speaking to Dwarven low-lives. That offer was to our Elvan brothers.

To Davania
From Illoria

Agreed, let's show these sumbags why WE'RE the High Race.

Xen my liege... my old homeland, your present country now lies undefended. Please DO something about it! I'm busy killing Catalians.

You've 22 gold (and 10 income)... if you pass me my usual four to reinforce my army with archer and you send part of your army to Tarakfal we can hold the goblins at bay AND destroy Catalia.
It is your decision my liege, I will remain loyal - partly because I have no choice - but mostly because I love my old homeland and I wish for the humans to win this grand war against the races. There's also some loyalty in me. Do not rebuke your servants request for aid and your general, your humble servant shall aspire to show you the power of the human race truly united under your banner my liege.

For the good of Tarakfal, for the mercy of Amorfal and for your glory my liege, please.

it was my strategy this turn to essentially, draw back, regroup, and then be ready to strike this turn or the next, with a far superior force- and thats what I'll do.

(It wouldn't have worked if Catalia had kept to the agreement of dividing your lands. Two armies and incomes against one and all that you know...)

So my liege intends to defent Amorfal? Now that I'm but your humble imperial general asking for gold to hack enemies what is it you intend to strike back at? [PM me?]

[btw Warman, I think Xen got his income over twice. Also, why didn't I get my 4 gold income before I transferred fealty (I guess you decided that didn't work - ok) and did I get archers for my gold? I think I did.]

What about I take the southeastern city of Catalia, and you reinforce me and buy a bigass army of warriors or something to kick Contempt's ass back to his little goblin stickhut?
---
[ho hum... 'Imperial general' this is actually more fun then being king]

@toteone- since the lands are in Imperia possesion, they to tarakfall for processing- I'll give you an allowence for re-inforcments, but diplomacy witht he goblins has just fallen through, and i want to overrun them with an over-whelmign force this turn.

if you mean me, then I have no PMs from you- only soem diplomacy from contempt, and self PM I put in my mailbox from school- did you by chance send me an email instead?

OCC: I'd like to ask why the lords aren't in rebellion in former Amorfal lands, since this little "deal" takes away most of their power. Besides, this little deal gives Xen too much power, and makes this NES very unfair at the moment. These kind of deals should come with consqences, otherwise its to easy for the subject nation to destroy the rest.

1) This is a fuedal era, Kings don't give up power that easily. Role-play your roles, other wise the NES is not as fun for the rest of us when one player decides to do something very OCC for his nation.

2) Nobles do not like being placed under a new lord so easily

3) Someother Bullcrap ;)

err maybe, I made a more eloquent mail but:... point is A-OK. Just make it at least 4 gold to counter tha Catalians and don't cut the purse string when I'm no use or threat to you any more, eh? ;)

Here's to King Xen :king:
and Imperial General Toteone :nuke:

in answer to contempts post

A) I transferred the allegiance directly to Tarakfal, that way the nobles retained their power.
B) No cities have actually fallen yet.
C) Dunno, but I don't think rebellions are part of the game.

D) If you're all so scared of Xen's Human Horsemen then why don't you make some grand alliance against the dark lords of the north?

1)they did all the time in real life- th epoint fo feudalism was to both keep a stbale protective hold on a lords lands, and -relitive- power by essentially making alliances with other automous kingdoms for the peace and benifit of everyone- thats essentially what happend here- in this case, all the king od armorfall cared for was wars, thus, he choose to become a high general in the nation of tarakfal

2)they seemed to all the time in the real lif emiddle ages, where llegenge swapping was so fast it made ones head spic

3)your just an evil goblin, and jealous of superior human might :p

well think about this, I have already said several times how hard it is to manage the kingdom and that people don't like it, guess whats in store.

The nobles are loyal under the king, untill he goes they're fine.

Also I did do Tarkfal's gold twice, so that mean they should only have 16 gold. Hear that Xen 16.

Arghhhhhhh... Hear that Xen? That's GM's warning of doom and gloom for great humanity.
Maybe you'd like to take the Catalian front and transfer me back to Amorfal so I could take care of their administration as well.
