Heh, CivIndeed obviously doesn't like someone trying to start up low-flame arguments with him (or her, nowadays you never know).

I was so bothered by it, i couldnt respond at all.

What I see is shout-back, kill-quick and lastly cannibalism.

The last one is obviously not an option in Civ4. Until some crazy modder makes it an option, of course.

I'm sure I've got a somewhat malformed python based file called "CannibalizeYourSystemScenario.py" around here somewhere...

I'm surprised that the obvious solution hasn't been suggested yet! All you have to do is reformat after each time running Civ 4. Then you can at least be ensured that your local machine is safe (from this vulnerability).

I hear thats what Take 2/2K tech support offers as their latest solution...

I read the first post thinking, OK, now I'll read the rest and learn something from the thread. But I couldn't do it. I don't like violent movies either.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone else could explain the vulnerabilities in these files to those of us (or maybe it's just me) who don't really know what's going on here and don't want to wade through the vitriol.

You know, actually reading the first post, and the links provided, as well as additional posts, and additional links provided, works.

Just wanted to chime in here...I just got the game and it's now Dec. 4th so I wanted to know if I should do this updating.

Is it worth it? Are the problems proposed by CivIndeed still true? And most importantly: Will I have problems playing online if I update these files??
