Fighting against the Russian aggressors has gifted us our 1st Great Leader Napoleon and we have the difficult task to decide what to do with him.
Many players advocate to use the 1st Leader to create an army. Once the army wins (which would not be the issue with a cavalry army), we could build the Heroic Epic and thus increase the future chance to spawn a Great Leader from 1/16 to 1/12. And we could build the Military Academy in a city which would enable this city to manually build armies.
Or we could hurry a Great Wonder. Currently we are building Smith's (due in about 15 turns); also available to us is Newton's. And we can trade for navigation and build Magellan's.
Smith's saves money, because upkeep for harbors, markets, banks, and airports is payed by it.
Newtons doubles the raw science (before library, university) of a city.
Magellan's increases ship movement by 1.
My personal choice would be to switch Vandelay (currently building Smith's) to Copernicus' (finished in 4 turns). And to use Napoleon to build Smith's in a town where we waste little accumulated shields, e.g. in Cijam which finishes cannon next turn and can then do Smith's. This would secure us two Great Wonders.
Maybe we even get another Leader to build Magellan's; otherwise Persia will get it, since Tyre is the only coastal town working on Smith's.
