Hello all,
Wanted to see if anyone had seen this type of reason before.....Was trying to get Saladin to trade me Literature and it was redded (not a word) out. The reason: We have our reasons....

I had never seen this before and considering that I was +3 with Saladin it suprised me...It wasn't a new tech or anything...

Does this mean he's gonna sneak attack me or something, or is it just the AI being silly:crazyeye: ?

Game info:
Civ: Hatty
Map: Huge/Fractal/Settings random
Diff: Prince
Space race disabled.

I think it just means that they don't want to trade it to anyone period.

I am playing a Settler game just for fun at the moment, where I dropped in a Missionary or two (with World Builder) to every AI CIV after I founded Judaism, and about half of the CIVs wouldn't let me open up our borders to each other. I think it was 4 CIVS (w/o any religion) let me so I could spread my religion, 3 CIVs (2 w/ Religons, Bhuddism for 1 and Hinduism for the other, and 1 w/o) refuse to let me open our borders. I have tried gifting them stuff, both, TECH, Money per turn, and a few resources, and even tried to change their attitude toward me in WB. All to no avail.

I thought that meant that he was building the Great Library so he didn't want to trade away Literacy.

yes, WHOR (oh i just realized what that looks like as an acronym!) means that they're working on the wonder. i can't blame them, i do the same thing. i've sometimes used that information to delay declaring war on somebody, thinking "oooooh maybe i should *let* you make me that shiny building first".

Ahhhh OK. Thanks everybody, the building the wonder scenario makes sense now. I wonder why I've never seen it before? Oh well, he's no threat either way. Any other wierd responses you've seen that are far from the norm?

this topic comes up at least once a week, it makes absolutely no sense if you don't know about that "team attitude" rule.

and an extreme example of how you can end up in situations where you'd never be able to use the "we have enough on our hands" check to see if a guy is up to something. this one's really odd, even giving the weirdness of the poster (me). multiple DP testing

Ok but what about things other thaqn Technology? Like borders or resources (especially when they have a ton of one)?
