Hello, I am new to the game as well as new to these forums. I have a weird issue that occurs while playing CIV IV. It tends to happen as the game file gets bigger. Anyway I will try to explain the problem if I can. The green bar at the top no longer displays what technology I am researching. The city names and what they are building also do not show up. Also when it comes time to research a new tech or build a new building there is no name or description of the tech or building just a picture. I included a screen shot to make things a little clearer. If you know what is causing this and what I can do to fix it please help. Thanks

Could you please post your Dxdiag dump ?

(Dxdiag - Start button - click - select run - type dxdiag - hit enter - wait a min - select save all information - post it using the 'advanced' button below)

Have you loaded V1.52 patch yet ? Also, any other symptoms such as slow game play, slow turn times etc ?

Regards
Zy

I haven't been experiencing that slow of game play. It is sometimes quite slow to load, but it isn't that big of a problem I don't think anyway. The game runs fine with respect to turn speed. It's basically just this problem of not showing up the text in those respected boxes. I haven't downloaded the new patch, but the one that came out before it did not help. I was planning on downloading that patch and will post if that fixes the problem. Here is a copy of the Dxdiag dump. View attachment DxDiag.txt

Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for the quick response.

On the surface it would appear you meet minimum spec for this game.
Set it to 1500/1500.

However, Your Onboared video steals its 64MB from your 512mb of system ram putting you below spec.

Also of note:

Your page file is set too small and you have a whole lot of services running in the back ground.

You might want to disable all programs running in the background and turn off NON-MS services too.
