WEIRD VERY uncommon problem.HELP

ok so heres how it went. i installed civ IV and it worked fine played it then i downloaded the Immigration mod but i had to download 1.61 patch.did that.NOW it didnt show trees so i uninstalled the immigration mod.thennnn it still wouldnt show vegetation so i uninstalled Civ IV thinking id re install it with the 1.52 patch.but once i got it uninstalled i click install it brings up.....................INSTALL PLANESCAPE TORMENT? which i do have on my computer so i uninstalled everything about planescape torment but it still brings Install planescape :torment up

HELP?

Some install shield temp files are messing up stuff. Erase temporary files. Also found this solution somewhere:

The installer is trying to install a different program.
• Goto Start > Programs > Accessories
• Go to "System Tools"
• Click "Disk Cleanup"
• Choose "C:\" and click OK.
• Select to clean up temporary files.

Another way: Start -> Run -> "%temp%" (without quotes), and delete all files within.

What if you locate setup.exe on your civ cd and run it?
What if you try to install some other program?
