If someone can defeat the monsters and close the breach at the bottom of Mariana Trench, it would be a super diplomatic victory.

Anyway, I don't mind even if it is X-come Alien, Cthulhu summoned by a certain cult, chimpanzees from Planet of the Apes, or Dinosaur disaster by evil genetic engineering as Jurassic Park.
Since what I expect is something super badass archenemy that makes all remaining civilizations as one united team-earth or human species.

Doesn't this mod concept fit the title of the game, Civilization... than apocalypse or secret lodge mod?
I think the new frontier pack has that a kind of joking possibility.

You know that the NFP already goes so far from the severe history game.

At least, at endgame, I would like to see those mature civilizations.
I think we can expect that they all survived civs for the endgame phase, matured throughout ages, can unite for the common good for all humanity, and fight with a real threat upon us.

I know our game; Civilization is not a fantasy or sci-fi.
But wouldn't you agree that the endgame is so loose?
And the theme, which united humanity to defeat a common threat of evil for the future can be well fit the idea of what I think as Civilization.

Just defeating others and beating each other? Barbarian can do so.
Actually, I don't need Pacific rim Kaiju or X-com Alien as the last boss.
Pandemic is enough as our problem.
The problem is that pandemic is such a real serious issue now, so I want to find something less serious substitute for our common enemy.

I just want to see a really well matured civilized civilization in-game, not a civilized barbarian. However, the game system always makes us barbarian. I think the original Civ game's flow is not far from the Red-death mod.

... I mean, I would satisfy with just another official funny mini-mod like apocalypse and secret lodges.

I would actually prefer if the final phase of climate change in Apocalypse mode spawned kaiju instead of the meteors that destroy whole cities. They can be just as destructive but would be more fun in my opinion.
