I was going to ask you the same thing James.... you killed one of my armies for the loss of 2 cavalry. In the last turn, I did it through grand batteries... I had 20 of them lined up and most of your soldiers had 1 hit point left when my troops went in. Also, I pick and chose who to use them against. For example, my army of 4 Imperial Guards (each with an attack of 8) will most likely not need help going up against your army of 3 cavalry (defense of 4).

Those Grand Batteries you used were mine remember.... i moved them out to destroy the army, after working out u couldn't reach them during your next turn (boy was i wrong) Your very hurt army still killed 2 cav and made more run away (i think)

It is sad Amsterdam has finally fallen..... it held out against such big odds for so very long.

With the assistance of the mutual enemies of France not seeming to be drawing French forces away.....Britian faces the prospect of a France finally free to concentrate on our destruction.....

King James delivers a speech about fighting them on the beaches, and in every street and building....and never, never surrendering.... but he worries he is too thin to really give it any effect!

Meanwhile french forces look toward Portugal with greedy eyes!

Meanwhile the French lack of caution has been exposed, 6 cannon and 2 workers have been captured in a daring dawn raid on the French Coast... even if our landing party is lost, the prizes will be well worth it...

a year for preperation for the french. the british will enjoy this turn when they see the things to come! yes indeed, the invading troops were lost, along with a lifeguard in porto. turkish fleet spotted in the Mediterranean being escorted by british fleet. sunk turkish SOL and lost SOL to british MOW. preperations will also be made for the turkish soldiers' welcoming but we don't think they'll even get that far.

The French are squeezing us off the Continent....Massive forces form on the French-Italian Border, while a slightly smaller force- boosted by two armies, continue to press the garrison in portugal. It is a Grim time for us, but we know that others who stand idly by will soon suffer the same fate as us.....

1 cav lost counter attacking in Portugal. 1 Frenchy SOL sunk, various cannons fired at the Frenchies, and my raided cannons/workers made it home safe- for the loss of two conscript redcoats oh well.....we have learned much from this game
