mine is modern age......love the modern armor and all the jets and stuff.

I like the expansion phase, but I also like the Industrial era.

Middle Ages for me. Industrial is 2nd. Ancient Age you're still expanding, and Modern Age has way too much micromanagement involved.

Middle Ages. That's when I rectify insults past. :goodjob:

Industrial Age is pretty cool too, 'cause then I can switch to Communism and start thinking about winning. :king:

Industrial age, has to be.

It's when one or another power or powers suddenly gain noticeable dominance over weaker or more backwards ones. One or two of your opponents, often quite surprising ones, become industrial powers and reach a par with your own. There is also a guaranteed war at the beginning of this age, involving the cavalry/rifleman/cannon combo.

Also, the scrabble for resources becomes more and more desperate, particularly with the emergence of coal, oil and rubber; vital to any warmongering plans.

I like the ancient age...exploring and founding loads of cities.
Then I like the middle ages...more exploration, consolidating and building some infrastructure.
Then I like the insudtrial age...developing into a world-dominating power.
Then I like the modern era...mopping up and (sometimes) milking for score.

Difficult choice!

Definetly NOT the modern age.

So ancient, medieval or industrial? Hmmm....not ancient, spending too much of my time competeing for space!

Of the other 2, probably industrail cuz by then I have settled down and know if I can win or not!

Industrial Age for me too. I really enjoy building up the railroad system between my cities, and sending my armies out to crush my enemies.

It's like the payoff to all the expansion and improvement building in the earlier two ages.

Depending on which civ I play, Ancient or Middle Age is what I like by far.
I am almost allergic to modern warfare...

I have to go with the industrial age. Actually, late middle ages is where it gets good, aka you get better ships and gunpowdeer!

In the industrial age, we get espionage (YAY!) and some other goodies. Plus medicine, no more accursed floodplains.

But I like the modern times music best. :goodjob:

It's a close one between the Industrial and Middle Ages for me. I really like to bomb the AI back to the Stone Age though, so I voted for Indutrial Age. You get better troop transpots, much better artillery, and bombers. What more could a person want? As soon as I discover Replaceable parts it's a major military buildup until I invade the other continent. Then by the time I have taken over an AI or two, Bombers come along which is really fun IMO. The only drawback is the massive amount of time it takes to wage a war in the later ages.

I would have to go with the Middle Age because that's where my favourite UU's become available (Rider for instance) and I can finish conquering my continent.

Industrial is good because I usually pull ahead for good at this time and capture/build wonders.

Depending on the game parameters, the Ancient Age can be very exciting, such as when your scrambling for territory and balancing growth and defence. Such cases can nudge it to No. 1 in my view. But when you're stuck on your own little island? Bah!

The Ancient Age is the best. The start is overwhelmingly important in this game.

Yep(2)

The industrial age is just a case of railroading every tile and ensuring dominance with cavalry and artillary. The start is where the game can be won or lost with every move having a point to it.

The modern age becomes a dull task of moving workers, building more stuff, moving workers, building more stuff, moving workers, building more stuff with the occasional war in there as well. It would be okay if the late wars could somehow win the game for you through some kind of global alliance gaining 90% of the map or if there was some other late game challenge rather than just pollution.
