Now excuse me if this thread maybe exists,
I dunno if it does but here goes....

WHAT CIV WILL YOU GO ON YOUR VERY FIRST GAME OF CIV3?

And how many civs will you pick?

Random or ready made map?

Will you try a tutuorial?

Or will you go straight for a scenario?

Get thinking!

Chinese or Rome... But I'm leaning towards the militaristic-industrious Chinese

Probably 16 civs -- at least 12

Random map

Leaning toward King level (Losing won't kill me, but I want to see what the game can do)

No tutorial, although I'll read the manual steadily during my non-gaming time

No scenerio

I will tray a Tuourial first. Then I will start my game on Deity on a randon map with 16 civs and with play as a randon civ.

Starting out at Deity? Hoo-boy. If what the Firaxis people have said is true about their inability to beat the AI at deity, your first game might be a short one. :)

Good luck to ya, tho. I'll probably start off at the easiest level just so I can say I've beaten the crap out of the AI before I get pummeled at deity.

CIV = Japanese or Babylonians (i don't care for civ's abilities)
# of CIVS = 16 (oh boy, i wouldn't like to be in Europe)
Map = 180x180 World Map!
Tutorial = sure (to see how the game runs)
Scenario = nope (not in a while)

Well I always play on the hardest level of all games that I get. I feel beating a game on a easier level cheapens you victory. I don't mind having no chance at winning.

chinese, japanese, or ill custon create the Turks or Mongols

I would play romans, but I am more into custom Civs...

The Romans.

16.

Random or ready made map?

Random map - 180x180

Will you try a tutuorial?

NO!

Or will you go straight for a scenario?

NO!

You've got the right attitude to tackle the new (and reportedly improved) AI. I don't mind losing. I just hate getting whipped, especially from the get-go.

I usually work my way up through the levels -- win at one level, play the next game at the next highest level -- until I get the smackdown from the AI. I usually play most games at the middle difficulty levels because I don't have the time or patience to survive at a game's highest level. And it's no fun if you don't win sometimes.

The English, on the HUGE world map, with 16 civs, Cheiftain Level, Tutorial first, then a WW2 scenario.

I think I will try the English also on a huge map, but with only about 12 civs to start out with, I will prob also start the game on prince level. I will see how it goes from there.

Depends on whether it starts with multiplayer. If so I will play as the Italians on the world map. If not I might try the French or mabey a custom civ. Either way 16 civs

I'll probably end up testing the English in my first game of Civ3.

On a pre-made map of the world (I like it historical ;) ).

The maximum number of Civs possible. :goodjob:

> I think French/English/Russians would be my first choice
> 7 opponents
> Prince (they say Prince is the normal level, when AI doesn't cheat; want to experience fair game :)) or King level (i usually play Civ2 on this level)
> Random map
> + on-line studies of civilopedia (when needed)

I like to play at the no cheat level too. Guess that will make me Prince in Civ3, instead of King.

First civ will be the Germans, not for any particular reason. Random map, normal size, 7 opponents. Default settings.
