EDIT: Since this is a Cable modem, and its about 1 AM, I think I'll try this test tomorrow around 5 PM and see what the results are.

That's a cable modem? Man, that sucks. .. but you are in NYC. . . (by which I mean you've probably got more people on your node that I do)

My cable modem at home gets about 2.2mbps d/l, and I ferget the upload. I'll have to try tomorrow. . .

I've heard tell that they're supposed to break the 6mbps with cable/dsl modems soon. . . some kind of compression algorithm.

I used to have ADSL until a month ago but i moved out. I'm on 56k at the moment and can't get ADSL or cable! Its sickening regressing back down to 56k!

I'm on an ADSL 512 connection (test says 474/422).

My ISP has announced that there'll be a new 2M option available sometime this fall. Can hardly wait...
