What do you do with your espionage points?

I usually acquire sufficient EPs to see my opponents' cities without having to use the slider, at least until the other civs start buiilding Security Bureaux. Then before I invade I send in my spies, not to sabotage buildings but to destroy developments on resources. Knock out their iron and copper mines in the early game, or oil and aluminium later, and their military production is crippled: knock out their luxury resources and they get angry citizens: knock out their food and they starve. None of this costs much in EPs compared with the cost of sabotaging buildings. And a city with angry citizens is ripe for a spot of fomentation of unrest. Make 'em suffer, then step on them.

I never use the slider, always too greedy for tech or to keep enough gold to dodge event attacks (or upgrade a sweet unit without burning a GG). I'm usually only able to see about half the AI cities but that's good enough for me, it gives me the gist of where they're at in tech, unit production, etc. I don't need 100% detail to have my plan together.

My spies usually just keep hard-charging on the counter-espionage to make sure they don't sabotage hardly any of my improvements. When they get caught in the wait time between espionage missions they go to border cities and do "spread culture".

LOL. yea i know. i am not saying that destroying the monestary is the best move in the game.

just saying that the FU value is fun enough to employ it from time to time.

Hehe, destroy all of them and they're unable to spread religion after Sci Method, which can be valuable happiness management if you plan to DOW them later. :king:

I am one of the few that uses spies extensively, so you can say EP's are very important, and as they should be in most BTS games. Spies and espionage are the utmost underrated, and underused unit in BTS that if used extensively will easily pay off in dividends.

A lot of effort for insignificant gain, I'd say. Nevermind that you CAN still build Missionaries using Organized Religion.
