Sullla's AI Survivor Season Eight - Game 6 Thread

Famous quote for this game:
Last time i pick Stalin.

Most entertaining AI:
Gandhi the Conqueror imo
Vicky was more impressive with few cities (initially), but she never did fight when things were close.

Worst luck AI:
Nappy..built SH and was doing okay, then Stalin snapped.

Best luck AI:
Joao making the wildcard.

Fed up by those games AI:
Roosy..he left the building quickly.

Pointless AI:
Rags (but he won us fletcher / ranger)
His cross country war didn't surprise anyone..

This game really did feel like it was possessed by the spirit of Wang Kon. Forget Stalin's cartoonishly baffling decision making actually working out for him repeatedly (until the point where it no longer did), shoutout to Roosevelt declaring war on his Defensive Pact buddy Gandhi, Gandhi pulling in Victoria and her nuclear arsenal against Roosevelt the next turn...and because the war hadn't been going on for long enough to tank Gandhi's relations with Roosevelt he started hating Victoria for nuking his "friend". Who declared war despite signing a defensive pact not five turns earlier. And because of that Gandhi later DoWed Victoria, for agreeing to fight his war for him.

Stalin clearly just saw something that everyone else didn't and his luck didn't run out until his muse left him. The rest of the field was straight :crazyeye: territory.

Well, let's start with the facts  Stalin proves unable to defend his Pool One status. Suryavarman only needs two points next game to tie and could easily knock out Stalin. Louis would need a tidy nine points to tie, but a perfect score from Cyrus would also work. Gandhi, on the other hand, consolidates his spot in Pool Two. There don't appear to be enough points left to affect that at least before the Wildcard Game. On another note, Victoria shoots up an incredible 17 places in the Live Ranking  outdoing Frederick's improvement of nine places.

I found it interesting how the leaders in the north handled the issues with space and land quality. Aside from Gandhi, they all settled to the south to the effect of displacing Stalin and Ragnar.

Russia's land was indeed strong--just think back to that early production and all those river tiles. Unfortunately, Stalin squandered both his unrivaled production and power leads. I was most impressed that Ragnar built a functional empire and embarked on one prudent war. Joao seemed more of a mixed bag, but I'm glad he will have another chance. He will round out the neutral peace weights to four out of nine spots, for what that's worth :crazyeye:

While Victoria has a consistently bad record in the Alternate Histories, she was indicated as competent by Thrasybulos's replays. Her victory from this start was impressive even if anomalous and earns Victoria a similar coastal spot in Playoff Game Three. She and Churchill will share the east, with Sitting Bull in the southern central position and Qin in the opposite corner. Gandhi secures the super central start on the oddly shaped map for Playoff Game Two.

I caught the nappy bits early. Stalin DOW on him was so random. No borders at all and I think their peaceweights should be close.
