What Do You Think Cities In Your Game Look Like?

My cities are each a celebration of my citizen's benevolent and beautiful leader, Natasha the Fabulous, with statues of me everywhere. And let's not forget the endless designer fashion boutiques and jewelry stores. ;)

Meh. Never mind. They all look like Detroit. :(

They don't have any statues of Natasha in Detroit? And they must have jewelry stores, robbing gas stations all night gets so boring!

I don't know. The one time I drove through, I didn't stop to see if either were there. I just floored it and kept going.
Always happens, right?

I just won a Rome game around 1400 CE. Didn't even get to rifling. Rome finally made it to the Top 5 cities list after I had sacked another 5 capitals. :mischief:
I'm jealous! I can't remember when I've won that early! :goodjob:

I had cities where the only buildings for most of the game were Libraries (for SE-style scientist boost and culture), Barracks, and Granaries. I fit in Courthouses and Forges when practicable. Then I produced a lot of troops.

Late-game, I had to put in Markets and Grocers to help control the happiness and health problems. I think I ended up conquering enough coliseums to complete that quest, since I didn't specifically build them but still received the benefits of finishing the quest.

Sounds remarkably similar to my visit to that neck of the woods.

Seems to be the way to go.

I can't help it - in my mind's eye my cities/territory always look like this, regardless of actual city development or nearby terrain:

So, in the current Civ game that you are playing.
What do you think that your cities look like right now? Describe it to me.

Well, at the moment I'm playing me some Road to War, so I suspect my cities would look just like the Soviet Union did in May of 1941.

In the near future, many will look like piles of rubble.

I think the reason My cities and LM's all look kindasorta ruined is because we've been warring apparently over ....detroit!

Gambitworm....excellent city...City Walls, Castle...maybe even a worldbuilded in citadel...but with no windmills on those hills and the surrounding desert....place can only hold 1000 peeps, might wanna get a great merchant to settle, unless you discover a lizard-sushi variant.....

Oh no. I wouldn't fight over Detroit, or Windsor, or any city for that matter.

Now, the prairie dog town that has sprouted up in my back yard, that's another thing entirely. The little nerts are running all over the place. Where's a pack of Spearmen when you need them?

^ Wouldn't fight over windsor either....on earth maps, when the English settle the western hemisphere, they never GET it in the right place.....and you know, that's a completely required raze when that happens.....

---spearmen aren't any good against prairie dogs....the prairie dogs aren't armored nor do they have a main cannon armament, so spearmen don't have a chance. ...however, the spearmen can pillage the town and ...check your bank account after that...

My cities are probably pretty okay up until the discovery of steel, upon which they become hives of sweat shops devoted to producing cannons for the state. Then, after about a century of producing cannons for no discernible purpose, about half of the populace is drafted into the military, given rifles, and told to wage war, for some reason, on our neighbors whom we've been at peace with for all of recorded history.

And that's just the average city-- woe be upon the populace of the city that has a Globe Theater.
