What Great old games shld be Remade?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but someone on here mentioned Empire.. I LOVED THAT GAME!!! Does anybody know where you can still find a copy of it??

Also, in spirit of the thread: Hot Death Uno :)

yeah - it is out there if you search on the internet - unfortunately, i don't have the address anymore - but if you look you can find it - one of the problems is that it won't run with todays comps unless you make some drastic changes to the settings - forget what they were, but remember it too tons of time to get it to work - they really should reissue empire -

Not that cheap Terror from the Deep or Apocalypse but the original :)

There is a somewhat newer version for windows, that is, you don't have to start in DOS. Haven't tried it on XP, but seems to work on win2k. However, unless you have an old soundblaster card the sound probably won't work.

Also would like to nominate Meretzky's Spellcasting 101 etc.

There has been some chatter about Sid Meier redoing Master of Magic or perhaps some of the other old Microprose favorites .. in the near future.

Still have MOM on an old PC that is DOS based.

Mule, (Great on Commodore 64), uhhh...Battletech 1: The Crescent Hawk's Inception. Loved that, Mechwarrior with RPG elements. They could do it really good now. Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, wait...they got a Mech 4: Merc now, right I can't run the darn thing. Grrr...must upgrade....and finally, Alpha Centauri

Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar. First game I ever became addicted to (Commodore 64 version). I know they've produced a mod-pack that updates some of the graphics, but I would love to see a 3D-engine based rendering of the game.

3 games that could definitely use a remake - the original AD&D Forgotten Realms games - Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, and Secret of the Silver Blades. I would pay TONS for these 3 games with updated graphics, gameplay, and additional story lines. I would probably still play them, except the way they were coded made it so their speed was based solely on your CPU speed, so even on a 333 MHz processer, battle action went by in the blink of an eye. There is already so much depth to these games, that a remake done right would put them at the top of the list for greatest RPGs of all time.

Use the fireball!!!

(sorry, had a flashback there)

Steve Jackson's Car Wars needs to be remade as a computer game.

id love to see a new version of the phantasy star series from the old sega genesis platform be remade.

at the time it was the best RPG out there. for some reason sega let the name die in the lat 90's by failing to continue the series with the dreamcast.

Zelda 1 and 2 and Legend of Zelda:A Link to the Past.
And colonization

about koei games like ramance of three kingdoms, there are a lot of them you know.. i personally like #3, #5, and #8.. #8 is really recent, 2001 oct.. and #9 is scheduled out in january 2003..

oh wait.. i'm not sure there are english versions of those games.. maybe there's chinese korean and japanese versions only..

i also like koei srpg based on the three kingdoms, especially the third one on cao cao.. the first one should be remade..

There's a 7th version in English for the PS2; which I had posted extensively about some time ago. But I am sure it wasn't released on the PC. ;)

I think the 5th, 6th were also released in English for the PSX...

ah i see.. i don't have ps2 so i play korean versions on pc..

i love the #8 battles.. the battles can have ****loads of people esp. if you have an anti-someone alliance..

#7 was a little unbalanced in that an army led by a physically strong general can decimate a mentally strong general any day..

i've been looking at #9 previews and it's even more innovative than any other was.. crazy.. i love it..

Fantasy Empires

Coolest game ever made By Silicon Knights and now defunct TSR

Now that I've got another job, I decided that I might need some sleep now and again and have taken a tiny break from Civ 2. :(
Instead, I have been playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2 for my PS, trying to get the (not that cool or indeed worth it) free stuff you gte for winning all the competitions on Hard setting. This made me think: is it possible to get an up-down scrolling football game any more? Many years ago I played Kick Off and its sequel and although you got the option to play sideways, found it much more difficult than the vertical pitch but nowadays all the games have horizontal pitches. :crazyeye:
What about shoot-em ups? I doubt that there are that many games for sideways-scrolling shoot-em ups any more, but vertically-scrolling games have disappeared totally! Any info on current games that scroll vertically would be gratefully accepted. :goodjob:
