First. I'm super happy with this heroes expansion.
It's a small step towards the idea of going back to 400.000 BC as the starting point for future CIV VII.

My fundamental ideas about this are:
1) Mirror Earth History of pole reversal, axys shifts, active fault lines, continental drifts.
2) Non-linear tech research. Non linear terrain conformation. Ice building. Land bridges, not only of soil, but also ice and vegetation. Read Plinus the old if you don't know Naturalis Historie about the old world.
3) Dynamic sea level -500mt +100mt. Dynamic climate zones.
4) Heroes and Demi-gods that store techs, and passes through the 4 main apocalypses before 12.000 BC.

Heroes shall not be there from the beginnings, but shall be researched actively as a tech.
A Shamanic, animistic, pre-religious, Hyeroglyphic tech.
The 4 primitive ages, shall be solely Hunter-gatherers, survival, and domestication of alien animals.
Every heroes (not gods, or demi-gods, like Quetzalcoatl, Queen of Mu, Thor, etc etc) should be
able to help its civs to advance a particular pre-tech/ tech that won't be available to everyone outside that hero untill cults come along, and thosed can spread the tech knowledge. The existance of it.
Without making contact with the cult, it's should still be possible to summon the hero, to make further advancements to the basic tech tree the Hero is king. But Heroes shall get perks, and cost a lot of faith as time goes by. Untill it won't be possible anymore to summon them, with the beginning of the current age.
Magic should be banished with the birth of regular Religion. Or severely limited by Religion culture itself.

At the end of the first age, in 150.000 BC, there could be a pole reversal, continental drift, heroes scrambling, and every civ should be limited to one city only, maybe two. no techs could be researched other than those given by the hero.

Age 150.000 to 80.000, and 80.000 to 24.000, and 24.000 to 12.000 BC the other three primitive ages.
Each time a big scramble may occour at the end. If a civ get two cities divided by some factor, it may keep one but not both. The lost one shall becom a city state. By trading with these city states and other civs, it will be possible to recover every tech that will be reset at the beginning of each super-age. Heroes may build big temple complexes, that would acts as super-city states. Trading with them shall not be easy. War could be necessary to unlock some techs that shall be otherwise unavailable to everyone, unless some cults will do the job for you...

It could be possible to include gods and demi-gods also, like Buddha itself, Zeus, etc, but it's a messy swamp, as many names are just the same meaning of One.... so... I don't really know on this.... Heroes does it anyway...
