What if when you played a harder level, instead of giving the computer advantages, the AI could get better. (Although that's VERY far away from happining). That would COMPLETLY change strategie. For instance you could keep up with technology without having to trade (so much). Lets discuss some more ways it could change the game. :borg:

I would always want to play with the AI doing its best though, so it'd make the concept of difficulty levels quite hard to get around...

I think It'll make games a lot better. Feel more like a game of wit and more like a human opponet (willin to wait 2 hours for you're turn :) )

While we're dreaming, wouldn't it be neat if we all could become omnipotent gods of our own private universes?

Yes, yes it would be cool.

a perfect ai would mean: no chance to win. a computer doesn't get bored, so it can solve nitty-gritty tasks of micromanagement without getting bored or making mistakes.

First of all, computer shouldn't make mistakes. That's not how I like to win.

Plus you can control the AI, in easyer to make AI games, in games that don't require SO much to remember and master like monopoly tycoon, AI at max could ALWAYS win!!! Look at deep blue :scan: :borg: groucho :bump:

It depends how you read mistake. There's a bad strategie decision or luck but I considdor a mistake the computer attacking a tank with a spearmen. :spear:
