3/4 of that total is from local city happiness (i.e., buildings). You must have spent a ton of effort to build/buy all the buildings (Colosseum, Theatre, Stadium, etc.) Plus religious buildings too I imagine. You can probably get around +20 that way, x40 cities or so, that's 800 right there.

I guess I don't bother making those buildings when I don't need it... much better to make money, science, or units.

Thanks everyone. Yes there are mods that I use that do add to happiness, mostly wonders though. I do use the building upgrades mod also. I'm still playing that game and last I recall I was almost 1600. I have pretty much every building built in every city, no I'm just slowly conquering the world. Also, to the poster who said you'd rather build the money buildings, my gpt (during golden age) is over 30k

I'll link some final screens when I'm done, showing everything.

I think I'm going to try and break the 2k happiness barrier this game.

With all the wonders and great artists I've had during this game that trigger golden ages, it's actually below 10k happiness for the next one to begin. Once my current one is over I can check and screenshot it. It's actually pretty funny because it only takes about 5 or 6 turns after ending one to start another one. I've spent most of the game in a golden age.
