What is your current game?

First time playing Venice, continents, prince. Got a fantastic start with marble and loads of hills which meant I grabbed a lot of wonders. Because I was the only one on my continent, military was super easy to manage. Grew and bought 3 city states with Merchants of Venice, then wiped out the Incans on another continent who were spamming missionaries and prophets at me. Currently going for a science victory, helped out by being able to purchase universities and public schools in my puppets.

Byzantium, Small Continents, Standard, Deity. Got my own island with a pretty good luxury situation, Uluru, Colombo and some tundra. Settled four cities. My Dromon only uncovered one CS (Singapore). Funnily, both my CS are hostile. Kamehameha is on the map though, so I could trade away some crab, iron and horses. Island has a bunch of iron so I could make a huge fleet of frigates. I got a religion, but somehowBuddhism was spread to one of my cities, I can see Siam's yellow and red borders across the deep ocean, without being able to meet until they sent a caravel. I'm trying Colletive Rule into Piety for a culture victory with Sacred Sites involved. I have Cathedrals and Monasteries but only four cities. I intend to take some from Siam, they have Mosques. I'm very far behind right now so I will undoubtedly lose frigates on the way. Also, no culture CS makes going through Piety very slow. We'll see how it goes.

I would be geninuely terrified to find China at my door after this. In all honesty, I kind of wished Japan would play more like this, with a good early game building to allow them to build a powerful early game eco into a mid game blit

If you think they're scary now, imagine what they were like before both their unique building and unique ability both got nerfed: An unstoppable army where every single unit is a souped up unique unit with 30% more combat strength than normal and every city produces +5 gold more than normal (Paper Makers were +4 gold, no upkeep).

I have a China game going of my own - Atomic Era start, no less, and hated by every other country in the world except Assyria, who is also communist. All I did was conquer one pitiful little city-state, then my lacking army strength resulted in the vile capitalists and fascists using it as a pretext to declare war. Currently waiting for Pocatello to join in as well, then I'll be at war with the whole world outside my sole ally, lol.
