Since this seems to be such a hot topic of late, I just thought I would facilitate some discussion of the favorite buttons you have seen or would like to see in your Civ3 games.

Here are a few of my favorites:

button_no_smoke_break.gif
- This is the button you push when you want all those lazy good for nothin' automated workers who have gone on a smoke break in you cities to get their butts in gear automatically and either join to a city or go off an plant forests somewhere useful.

button_just_let_me_blow_myself_up.gif
- This is the button you push when you have the game so blasted screwed up that their appears to be no possible way of winning and then all your workers and other units will just automatically run to the nearest AI cities and blow themselves up taking half the population of the cities with them. If your game is already well into the modern age and someone has built the United Nations then pushing this button will automatically cause every AI civ who has broken an agreement in the game to begin paying you gold per turn and 50% of your cities will randomly produce another worker everyother turn so that these workers can run towards enemy units or cities and blow themselves up as well.

button_micromanage.gif
- this button automatically causes the chosen worker to run to the nearest city and micromanage production so that no shields, food, or gold are ever wasted since he can do a better job than the governor. This button can save lots of time and make the game really fun because all you have to do is run around and whack the enemy units with your units because now you will know that everything elese in the game is taken care of. ALl you have to do is memorize that you need one worker per city and assign him to this special automated task and then you're on cruise control.

button_eye.gif
- This is the button you push whenever a settler unit is standing on a mountain top so that he can see 10 squares further in any direction and have a momentary vision of any hidden strategic resources that may be in that area. The AI uses this button all the time.

I like the last one. . . if it's good for the AI, it's good for me. Too bad we don't have this button already. . .

Oh, yeah we do. . .build your own map! :p

Boo...:D
Fantastic buttons...

Well, the :smoke::nono: could indeed be useful, if that one stops all auto-worker actions (combined with a confirmation prompt and re-center map feature).

I need the micromanagement button.

And doesn't (2) sounds farmiliar? I think the middle east countries had them.

Yeah, the micromanage button would be fantastic! :D No more trying to get my cities productive with my pathetic skills...

The first one would also be cool, because I'm also tired of those workers I've automated.

Cracker:
Where is the automated worker button for a worker to tell you what the other automated worker buttons are for...

(sorry, didn't mean to spam, I thought it was funny)

I like this one the best: :nospam:

It's when the automated workers get tired of people trashing them, so they rally together and try to put an end to those people who speak so harshly of them.

And then there is this one: :wallbash:

This is for when you start going insane from managing 100+ workers in the late game and you'd rather see the workers banging their head on a wall instead of hurting your own head.

And this one: :slay:

This is when you want to revisit the old bug where workers would get shot by your own troops when the workers tried running back into cities.

And this one:

When you tell your workers that they are not allowed to retire yet because they still have more forests to plant/chop.

And this one: :aargh:

When you find out that the extra 50 hours you spent doing extra micromanagement, still wasn't enough for you to win the game. Your workers run around screaming something about 'what is their purpose in life supposed to be'.

of course if the mm button existed, then the programming to deal with it exists, then if the programming exists then the AI will use it, and then the DEITY :worship: guys lose their advantage anyway (well some of it anyway)
