So basically, what Utopia do you thing is the best?
I don't mean gameplay wise, I mean idealogically. Which Utopia would you like to live in, which Utopia creates the ideal world for mankind?
Also note that many of the policies represent the history of your nation, for instance the piety tree has both theocracy and free religion, perhaps resembling a nation which used to be a theocracy but now encourages religious freedom.
I would go for: Liberty, Freedom, Patronage, Rationalism and Order.

Freedom and liberty are illusionary states of mind. They are about as "real" as the american dream. ;)

My utopia is when my citys can produce soldiers and buildings as fast as possible and where the people are happy to live (that would say forced by a gun to stay silent) cause that way i can rule the world! screw the communist party, screw the american dream this is my civilization dream! BWUAHAHHAHAA

In other words "god mode".

Damn I wish there was a cheat to activate God Mode in real life. :king:

From a gameplay perspective it's Tradition, Honor, Piety, Patronage, Liberty as far as I can say now.

One where I'm in charge.

Saving that, I'd be content with a benevolent A.I. overlord managing everything. You don't need to watch the watchmen if they're selfless and incorruptible.

Or if you're dead.

My utopia is where everyone doesn't have to work, money grows on trees, there is peace on earth and everyone can devote time everyday to play Civ CIV. (Civ 104 is going to rock. :D)

In Real-life its Rationalism, Honor, Freedom, Order and Liberty. Though I'm not sure about Liberty.

In my first game however, I'm going to play as an expansionist France trying to win a conquest victory while going for Honor, Autocracy, Order, either Piety or Rationalism and Patronage.

If anyone is seriously interested in this topic, I highly recommend reading the science fiction book The Dispossessed. It's very good, and won the Hugo and Nebula awards among others. Though as a warning for some of you, it's definitely philosophical scifi and not action scifi.

Funny, I literally finished that book exactly one week ago today. Not quite my favorite Le Guin ever (two favorite series of all time are Foundation and A Wizard of Earthsea), but socio-political speculative fiction at its best!

Second word of warning: it's not until about 3/4 of the way through that it starts not sounding like a propaganda piece. :p
