I know I've seen a lot of hardware related threads on here in the past two weeks, so if this has essentially already been discussed feel free to torch me.

I've noticed a lot of people complaining about Civilization IV. It's either the bugs, the graphical interface, or the speed of the game. I absolutely love the game so far and have been curiuos to know what kind of computer setup people are running the game on.

So, what is your hardware setup? Also, tell us how the game runs for you. I'll begin and include notes on how it's running for me.

Processor: Athlon 64 3800+
RAM: 1 GB PC3200
Video: ATI Radeon X850 XT PE (256 MB VRAM)
Sound: SB Audigy 2 ZS
HD Space: More than enough
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

Game settings:
Everything is on high.
Resolution 1024x768 (old monitor).
AA: 2X

More details could be listed, but I'm at work.

Notes:
It runs very smoothly. The game loads quickly.
Autosaves are almost instantaneous, and I'm playing on a huge map with 10 civilizations.
Zooming in and out is smooth. Looking at city details is seamless. Moving units is seamless. Animations are fluid.

This is the fastest Civilization I've ever ran, and everything is simply beautiful.

What I'd like to know is how the game is running on other systems.

It's really good until 1400ad or so when the game started to be choppier and choppier and it now (1800) crashes to desktop ever 20 turns or so and it's often accessing the HDD... That's playing on Epic with 15 civs with huge map...

I assume this means I'm going to ok with my computer:

Athlon 64 4000+
1GB RAM
BFG 7800GT

Well, I better darn well be, it's only civilization.

Showoff. :P

I have:

P4 2.2Ghz
512 Mb DDR Ram
Geforce 4 MX440

Hopefully my game will work once I get it. I already know I will have to switch off all the eye candy. I should be getting a new system within a couple of months though.

Processor: Athlon64 X2 4400+
RAM: 2GB Dual Channel DDR RAM
Video: GeForce 6800GT PCI-E 256mb
Sound: Soundblaster Live! 24bit
HD Space: 36gb SCSI Ultra160 RAID5, 80gb IDE (for bulk storage)
OS: WindowsXP Pro SP2
Monitor: Sony G500 21"

Runs near flawlessly. If I go to max zoomout with a lot of cities the framerate drops noticably and my minimap is usually corrupted graphically.

Currently running it on my laptop until I order a Video Card for the Desktop I built on a budget last year.

Dell i9300
1.73Ghz P4 Celeron
768MB Ram at PC4200
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 6800
Onboard audio, but have a PCI Audigy 2 ZS card as well

Everything on High and resolution set at 1280x1024 IIRC......

Game runs fine, everything is smooth. Some rough edges in the intro, but I don't think that's my system, I think the coding was just rough.

My main machine, mainly used by me:

Pentium 4 - 2.53 Ghz
1 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128 Mb.
AC'97 sound and a good headset (I like to keep it quiet for my wife)
Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2.
Running in 1280x1024 resolution on a 17" TFT screen.

Conclusion: Game runs fine. Only think that stuttered a bit was the intro movie.

My secondary machine, mainly used by my wife:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ - 1.6 Ghz
768 Mb RAM
Geforce 4 MX 420
AC'97 sound on board and a nice speaker set. (yea my wife has speakers)
Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2.
Running in 1024x768 resolution on a 15" TFT screen.

Conclusion: It runs, but a little slow. Also noticed some graphic glitches, need to update the drivers. Its playable though.

AMD 64 3500+ venice
1 gig ram(dual)
nVidia GeForse 6800 gt
laters drivers(nforse 6.66 for xp)
NOT WORKING.

Athlon 64 X2 4400+
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR
1gb dual channel RAM
Geforce 7800 GTX in SLI
Creative SB X-Fi
2x 36gb WD Raptors in RAID 0 config
Windows XP Pro SP2

Graphics settings are maxed. 1600x1200 resolution. One of the greatest features of this game was allowing adjustment of the resolution.

AMD 64 3000
512 ram
SiS 760 32MB intergrated card

Works fine, it's a bit laggy, but not when I zoom in the closest.
