What level will you start at?

ill probably start on warlord..i find cheiftan to be harder when you first start a new game(civ2,3) becuase youre already playing dumb..if your computer players are playing dumb as well i find this to be to much to take...and i end up loosing..lol.

A low level (no higher than regent equivalent). The vibe I'm getting is that this game will be quite different than civ3.

Probably start on Regent or Monarch. Probably go the military route until I get a feel for the religion aspect.

prolly monarchy or emporer (depending upon what the equivalent difficulties are), i stayed at regent level far too long, then at monarch for far too long, & I am only just now considering moving up to demigod so I have prolly been at emporer for far too long. this time i would rather jump right in at a harder level to avoid getting stuck on the lower ones.

I'll start Warlord or Regent. I'll take the developers' advice from Civ III and drop one level. And now I play my games on Regent/Monarch. So there.

I'll start on a hard difficulty, like emperor or deity. I think that I already know the "basics" of civ, and I want to start learning how to play the game well. It's hard to tell what works and what doesn't if you play on an easy difficulty where you're going to dominate whatever you do. Besides, it's not like a game is a waste if you lose. I'll learn faster struggling for 5th place in deity, than getting an age ahead on warlord.

I always start at the bottom and work my way up. I like to get familiar with the game (units/improvements/concepts) etc, then make it a challenge.
