what naval unit you would like to be added in the xp?

As in the title of the thread what naval unit you would like will be added in the xp for civ4?

we might see a Viking Longboat as an UU.

perhaps diversitfy the modern naval units such as perhaps add an AEGIS Cruiser, but that depends on revamping the air warfare element. the thing is that its not just more units, the whole naval warfare thing and the ships capabilities needs huge improvement.

I don't know about early naval ships as there weren't that many types. For middle ages, we have the Galleon and the Frigates, which are classics, maybe a small but fast (with a free flanking promotion) ship which could be a Schooner or something, and there are also those great big warships.

IMO they should improve naval and air warfare first and then think about new ship units.

also, those transports should carry more units, in Civ2 and Civ3, those transports could carry up to 6 units I think.

i loved the privateer too much. i'd have hoardes of the things prowling everybody's waters well into the modern age. i voted privateers, but i know i can't be trusted with them.

Tough choice between nuclear submarines and privateers.
The Privateer won out as I would get to use it more, since so many of my games never make it to the modern era.

the standard crusier to provide anti-air cover for the other ships. i also think the BB and the CC should be allowed the same type of bombardment as the aircraft have. to pick units or defenses.

Though I said Nuclear Sub. What I am REALLY hoping for is not so much more units, as better naval movement, greater need for naval units, more PROMOTIONS and abilities for naval units and-perhaps-a distinction between coastal and ocean movement!

Privateer is all I really miss. A few more ships of any type would be nice as naval combat is not diverse enough currently.

can i change my answer? i really want at least 1 transport and 3 military (rock-paper-scissors) for each of the 3 "naval eras" in the game
i guess that's alot of new units though, but i think it would help alot.
or maybe the dromond? man i used to love those byzantines because of that boat, sent AI galleys running scared!

I just want the sub to be able to target specific units again.

I'd also like to see ship move rates increased substantially.
