What scenario of a Civ4Col mod is most interesting to you ?

What kind of setting would you prefer for a new Colonization Mod ?

It would be a very ambitious mod.

Every big mod with many new game concepts and many new graphics is ambitious. :)
But it is usually the ambitious projects that are most fun to create and play.

That is why I always try to convince modders to join forces with other modders that might share their vision.
(Especially if they are beginners in Civ4Col modding).

I love this idea and have thought about it too as I'd love too see a tank come rolling into Civ4Col:) It could be a combat focused mod. You could have to Build your units like tanks and Submarines and then train your "colonists" to operate them. It would be a very ambitious mod.

I actually started to experience with this mod idea. I converted old civ4 ww1 scenario to civ4col scenario and created artillery and tank units (converted graphics from civ4). However the game crashes when you go to city screen and select to build tank. Not sure what the problem is.

My original idea wasn't really all that ambitious, just graphical conversation with some new units and a specific Europe map scenario. Fixing AI to play war game better and adding new game concepts of course would make it more ambitious. Which would be nice.

edit: Another ideas for this mod:

Your citizens demands goods(food, sugar, tobacco etc) that they consume. If they don't get enough goods, you are maybe forced to sign peace with your enemies. This forced peace would be event where you loose some of your border cities for enemy and you have to pay some gold to them too.Thinking of Treaty of Versailles.

Since it would be a combat oriented mod, a good unit supply system might be nice.Soldiers needing food and tanks petrol to operate etc.

I am currently reading Monarchies of God from Paul Kearney.

Great mix of Medieval, Fantasy, Colonization of a New World, Religious Wars, Inquisiton, ...
Pretty hard to explain. But the books (it is a series of 5 books) are very atmospheric and very enjoyable to read.

If you like medieval (fantasy) stories with a slight dark touch, then I definitely recommend that book series.

Could be an awesome background story for a Colonization mod. :D
(Especially since one of the themes of the series is indeed "Colonization of a New World".)

I wouldn't mind seeing a "what if" or "alternate history" scenario. For example, "what if" the Euro's encountered the Natives on a roughly equal tech parity? or having a unified 5 Nations for NA and maybe a SA alliance of some type when the Euro's show up on the door step ?

I've done some minor scenario creation for my boys ala Civ IV, but TAC or RAR would seem to have a better system for managing this. Just curious :).

I am interested in everything for Civ4Col except a modern or futuristic setting. :crazyeye:
Spoiler :

2071 is a very good mod (and I really have given a try!), but that Sci-Fi thing just doesn't fit for me.... :scan:

Just love history, so I really prefer to play in "the past" :D
I'm a builder too and wanna have nice villages and cities in a green landscape.
Spoiler :
For getting a modern (or even apocalyptic) feeling, I might play Civ4 or just look outa window... ;)
