what should i do?

Hi i have a couple of Questions!I've started a new game and its like this :



--->>Im on a nice fair size island alone by myself in the bottom right hand corner of the world.

Question(s) :

1)-what should i do 1st?Should i focus on Military build up or resource mangement?

I second that, no need to build a strong military just yet.

Although most likely you won't be able to get off your island right after getting map making, since galleys can't transverse sea or ocean squares. You may have to wait for astronomy or navigation. But still whatever the case your first priority is probably to explore the world beyond your island and meet some other civs so that you can conduct diplomacy and be able to trade with them, and possibly expand more. And like Hades said, don't worry about having a big military yet since most likely you won't be needing it for a while.

Be prepared with settlers, though, in case you see some land you want to grab.

Build up some cash so you could buy tech from the AI if they are far ahead. (which they usually are if you are all alone )

Your top priorities should be map making and the great lighthouse, which should give your galleys a decent chance of finding other civs, and literacy and the great library, which will enable you to get techs from the other civs for free when you meet them.

As said by others, move out and explore. You may not get good productive cities off-island since they may be far away fr your capitol but try to claim as much territory as possible for potential resources and of course, luxuries.

Yes. Like TheNiceOne said, seafaring and the Great Library. I'd really make it a priority.

Also, you may want to sacrifice some Galleys in kamikaze sea exploration attempts, if your production schedule allows it: depending on how the game develops, waiting for Astronomy and Navigation to get safe sea crossing might not be good...

Start a new game m8 if you’re on an island that’s 2 small , no resources and there is no computer player! Why? Because u will walk behind and the first couple of turns are the most important ones.

So after u start a new game……the most important thing is to not to start a war or become a allies with a other player.
Allies with an other player will cause war. Build a new city…..build a settler…..and in the mean time search for goodies with your explorer or worker. If the settler is build, find a nice spot and build your second one. Build a barrack and after that build soldiers….temples…setlers. In your second city try to build settlers and workers. The barrack in your capital will provide u with veteran soldiers who will defend your cities.

THE MORE LAND U GET IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF TURNS, THE STRONGER U WILL GET…….AND THE LESS LAND YOUR ENEMY WILL HAVE! LAND IS POWER……LAND IS MORE RESOURCES……RECOURCE = ARMY
