My first PC was an IBM PS/2 80286.
It had 640 KB of memory. I do not remember the size of HD.
But it was the most well built PC I have ever seen. It had a very quality keyboard which I still couldn't forget the feeling while I was typing with.
I was playing "Gorillaz" which was an example game that was written using QBasic that came with IBM Dos.
I still have the original IBM keys which were used to lock the computer.
Good old days...:(

YES! I had the same set up (mine had a 20MB HDD),
And I used to play "Gorillaz" with a friend- and the other one "Nibbles" or "Snakes" or something... like you said- the good old days.

That was the first computer I owned- the first I used was in my high school- I have no idea as to its specs- but its input was via cards marked with pencil.

Oh- I forgot- actually the first computer I "used" was built by my eldest brother- a big metal and wood framework cabinent full of vacuum tubes! I'll never forget the smell it made when it got warm!

AFAI remember the games name was "nibbles". It's clone which is available in Nokia cellular phones is called "snakes".
I want my old PS/2 back.

Yes- you're right it was nibbles. A fun frantic and frustrating game. After a bout of that I was always ready for the more intellectual challange of "Gorillaz";)

I don't remember the stats of my first PC but it was one of those original IBM PCs - the one with the big red switch on the side. And it sounded like a jet engine when it was running (compared to today's computers which are a lot quieter).

Same here ted. I don't remember much except for that i believe it had an 80XX processor. RAM was measured in KB, removable HD that only stored around 10 MB(i think)

We had C-64 then a Amstrad CPC-464 when i really little, so i cant really count that so.....

IBM-PC 8086 (I thought this was so cool, cause our budget school only had 8088's...... and this was in 1994!!! can you believe it!)

640k ram
10 mb hard drive
CGA colour screen

the first week i got it, i deleted the the system files and had to learn quickly about DOS. I kinda miss dos.... i cant stand windows

then i went up to a IBM PS/2 286.... someone else said this the keyboard was the best... that was my fav computer, got wolfenstein 3d and then..ta da CIVILIZATION on this computer, the screen was the best too.

My first computer:

Macintosh Performa 630 (got it '95)
33MHz
4mb ram
CD ROM drive
3'5" Floppy drive
15" screen
MacOS (don't remember version)

My first PC: (got it '99)
Pentium 133MHz
64mb ram
8x CD ROM
3'5" Floppy drive
17" screen
Windows 98

I can't be very specific, since i got rid of both these long back. ;)

My first (own) PC:

386 DX 40
4 MB RAM
200 MB HD
Trident SVGA Card (forgot the specs)
3'5'' Floppy Drive, No CD-ROM
No sound card, but playing Civ was great anyway. :D

HAHAHAHA!!!! I just found my first computer buried deep in a closet.

Found out it's a 4.77Mhz 8088, 21MB HD, 320K RAM. I was running Dos 3.0. Much like CMs setup(same processor/ram) but I'll bet I bought mine sooner as there was no deskmate yet(none that I knew of) IIRC. It also had a 5.25 floppy drive. It had a monitor that I don't have anymore and a keyboard with the label rubbed off. I have lost most of the documentation but I want to find out what monitor I had so I can hook it back up!

My first computer (the same one I have now but this one is hevily upgraded)

CPU 433mhz celeron (no fan and ran at 90C  )
ram: 26mb
HDD: 8GB
monitor: 12in 32bit colors
Video: shared 8mb
sound: built into mobo
Windows 98
