What would you have wanted different in Civilization 4?

I think the game should estimate income/maintenance changes resulting from Civics shifts. I want to know if I'm going to increase or decrease my cashflow before I change Civics, and roughly how much.

It already does that, in BTS anyway.
If you click or hover over (i can't remember which) a civic it displays the new total upkeep below.

I hate it that my cities are constantly asking to join my vassals empire. Even cities I create myself. What is the logic behind this?

@ ComradeAlex, all that shows you is how much the CIVIC's themselves cost. It doesn't show how your overall empire costs will shift when doing a civic's change... and at times it can be a massive change.

I think the founder of a city should be able to influence the length and intensity of the resistence. If I take New York from the Americans, Roosevelt should be able to spend money to make the resistance last longer, keeping me from using the city and possibly damaging my troops in it. If we make peace, one of the possible conditions should be using his influence to shorten and minimize the resistence.

Also, more than one side should be able to give something up in ceasefire negotiations. Not all wars are one-sided routs. Well, all of mine are, but I only play at Prince.

Yes more ways to handle Revolutions!

Carriers should have huge line of sight radii.

Towns should probably have some effect on your total population.

I want the damn palace graphic back!

I want the more detailed demographic statistics back. For example, I want to know my literacy rate.
