The Mongolian Ger is pretty good, though perhaps it's a bit too specialized. Being able to have mounted units start with 7 experience (before Civics) allows for some good flexibility.

Take away my bias towards the Mongolians, I think my favourite would have to be the Incan Terrace. Though Huyana Capac isn't Expansive, I tend to build a lot of Granaries and the culture provided by the Terrace saves me from having to build Theatres for quick culture - plus, I like the look of it.

Mongol Ger is Amazing for a Chariot/Horse Attack, I also simply love the Viking UU, togheter with the Berserks it's just fantastic.

I tend to favor the UB available near the beginning of the game in general.

My favorite is the Incan Terrace.

Carthagian Cothon is one of the best
Zulu Ikhanda is great also
and the Aztec Sacrificial altar is excellent for warmongering!

1. Aztec Sacrificial altar
2. Viking trading post
3. Mongolian Ger
4. English Stock Market (to support those Redcoats)

3. Egyptian Obelisk
4. German Assembly Plant
5. Zulu Ikhanda

I like the Terrace as well. When you have a new city (or newly captured) you don't need to decide between food and culture. You can have both.

Hamams are so useful. Providing happiness and health means that your city can generally grow bigger earlier than with an aqueduct.

I've been playing some industrial game starts lately, since I seldom get to the modern era. In that context, I have really come to appreciate the German Assembly Plant and the Russian Research Institute.

shouldnt you have pyt the ikhanda under wartime because after all, they are barracks

Sure it is a barracks, but the added abilities are not directly war related. Reduced maintenance is not all that helpful in taking territory - it is for paying for that territory after you have it.
