Domination because I like to warmonger, but Conquest often gets boring once you've started winning.

Perhaps it is because I always finish before the culture can manifest in my divine cities...

I've never won a culture victory either. I always seem to slip into military mode. Domination is the most frequent win condition for me. Even though I try to adapt to the best type of win given the conditions, I should really just start a game and go for the culture win.

I prefer conquest, partly because i always found it so hard in Civ2.
I hate domination and always feel a bit cheated by it, so I try to use Mapstat to avoid it.

Yeah I do, although I must admit that i'm not a book person (although i do read non-fiction), so i haven't read the books.

OT: Space race is the most rewarding of all the peacefull ways to win for me.

Me too! I love when my military advisor tells me that a rival city changed sides! It makes me so happy!

I usually try for the space race, but I always slip into conquest mode once the AI gets pushy. Of course, any win will make me happy.

Lately, I've been trying for a Space win, but I always seem to mess up and accidentally win by culture (100k; though both times my culture has actually been at 150k, and I just got too far ahead of the leading AI)

I suspect this is because I'm playing Regent on a Huge Pangea map, so its easy to have 20 + cities at 5000 culture ....

Oh, well. time to bump up the difficulty level, I guess.
