When are you going to get Civ4?

Just wondering when you guys are thinking about buying Civ4: Are you going to pre-order it, ..., or wait until after the first patch for it to come out.

1. Will pre-order Civ4
2. Will buy it during the first week after released
3. Will buy it during the first month after released
4. Will buy it during the first six months
5. Will buy it only whenever it goes on sale (could be six months or more later)
6. Will buy it after Firaxis released the first patch for it
7. Will decide when to buy after reading its review
8. Don't have any desire getting Civ4 at the moment (but that could change later)
9. Will get a copy of Civ4 as soon as it comes out, but don't want to pay any money for it.
A. Will never get Civ4! I'm boycotting Civ4 becuase I'm still so upset about Firaxis for doing a poor job in fixing C3C.

I'll either pre-order or go out and buy it the first day or two after release. I'm not happy with the abandonment of C3C but not unhappy enough to boycott Civ 4.

Well, its all dependent on whether is gets published for the mac. And, by then, there is a chance it will not run on my machine.

By the time it goes on sale the first 2 or 3 patches should be out and the game should be playable without any major bugs. Besides I play so little in a month anyway that it doesn't make sense for me to pay full price when it'll probably take me 6 months to finish the game I'm currently playing when Civ4 is released.

Here is the best way,
Check what others suffer (asking for patch, complaining on patch, wait forever for final patch) from this forum first.
Buy only if Civ4 has a quality final patch!

depending on how close it si to chistmas/my birthday, i'll ask for it then, but if i would have to wiat > 3 monthes, i;d get it ASAP

I will pre-order civ4 if I can. If I can't Ill just buy it when it comes out at EB Games (I have ALOT of gift cards from that store).

This option wasn't on there, but my Celeron 400 barely runs PTW. So whenever I buy a new computer, I will buy Civ 4 (probably at the same time), since Civ 4 will probably be out by then.

I'm so swamped with school work and ROTC I have no time for a job and therefore will only be able to get in around Christmas or my Birthday or possibly one of the six or seven times a year I run into a bit of money fixing computers or helping around my dad's job. I voted within 6 months.

Harsh, KabeDerlin. 6 months??? I wouldn't survive that long knowing Civ4 was out Its great to be 13 your dad pays for the games (I dont get an allowance). Anyway I work around my neighborhood cutting lawns, bbysitting, etc. so if dad doesn't pre order it I will

I think this might skew the results a bit. I suspect that people who watch the Civ4 forum for new threads will be overall a bit more eager and forgiving that those who don't.

I haven't voted because I think I'll go a different route from any of the listed choices: I'll wait until I see discussions at CivFanatics which make me think I'll enjoy it. So maybe early on, maybe after the first patch, and maybe later or never, it will depend.
