When do you use nukes

I always tend to "stockpile" nukes as soon as I can, just because of the feeling of power it gives me, but I seldom use them. I thoroughly fear nuclear wars since the only thing they actually do is devastate both my and the enemy empire, which serves no-ones purpose. But *if* the computer decides to send me a lil' thermonuclear gift I retaliate full-scale, WITH my own nukes.

I'm with you man. But still if the AI discovers rocketry you have to discover The laser ASAP!

I usually build quite a few nukes, but I only use them in an act of desperation to take out an enemy's spaceship. As soon as the enemy gets nukes I build SDI's. That way I avoid devastating surprises. Nothing worse than a surprise attack with nukes.

I don't like nukes, but I agree that modern war is fun. It gets a bit tedious when all you have to do is send over a few howitzers and wipe out his musketeers. And very annoying when some good luck for him results in losing your strike force! Much more intereesting when you have actually have to make use of everythng, including a navy and SAMs
