When does AI gives up a city?

Since people mentioned SMAC..how was its patch status? I mean, do you still need a hell lot of patching to play the game? Or it works out-of-box?

I think the "new" versions in compilations or so are patched.Best is to get the
addon "Crossfire", too (adds a lot of good stuff to Alpha Centauri).The addon automatically patches your main gam up to 4.0 and crossfire needs only one patch up to 2.0 And perhaps the fix for Window-XP users.

Then there is also the satisfaction of amassing an invasion army on the border, contact your neighbour and demand ALL his cities. If he refuses (and he will), you simply proceed to take them by force. Now, this is Civ at its best.

I forced an AI to surrended nearly 20 cities to me in a modern aged war. The reason was nothing less than taking the other 60 cities they had in about 5 turns. Lets just say I had over 1000 units with that and alot of nukes...
