I'll say that previous model was in good scale, but the designer forgot to take into account rising corprate greed. Expect profits from Civ5 to ring in no later then 2008, judging on most previues accord, near Christmas sounds about right

Wow I might have been right. Mybe that huge loss last year and the realization on the heels of CIv4 this franchise is a quick money grab, did speed the sequel.

Its a safe bet what contributed then was realization the current engine offered no promise for expansion and straying from the core stategy fans. .

They tried to lure more kids to maximixe profits but soon realized concentratin on their console development was best way to get thier attention. Meanwhile, restoring the legacy of the Civ series back to where Civ3 brough them would mean capturing the serious gamer market.

AT least they programed 'great advisors' in real life that where benifical to someone

i think civ 4 is probably the coolest game out there, but i look forward to a quick release of civ 5. more civilizations, more stuff for the workers to do, ability to expand again (a lot!), more map types, more resources, improved religion, improved trade, improved diplomacy, more buildings, more great persons, more units, and hopefully some really new creative ideas to help along civ 6.

November 2011, that is if the one's about to be release in 2008 is another Civ4 expansion. If Warlords is to be the final Civ4 expansion then expect release of Civ5 around 2009 - 2010.
