Where are Nemo, Mor, John Petroski, Mr Temba, etc?

Where are they now?

 Sob!
The heroes of CIV yester-years,
gone like those heroic figures of Greek mythology.

Y'know, ENEMY ACE(tm) often wonders what the
hell the likes of Capt Nemo and Mor are doing that is more fun than CIV.
I had high hopes for a Nemo-manufactured 2194 days for ToT, oh well.
I also miss John Petroski's bitterness-filled readme files! (and great scenarios)
Mr Temba made and hosted more great scenarios...
And there are many more from the olden CIV days.

No-one remembers the heroes of yore...

Anyone out there have any info on how to contact them or know
what happened to the CIV pioneers?

Maybe they are still here but under different names.

FavouredFlight says that Moria was his first Scenario, if thats true fair play to him but maybe he has made other under a different name?

Moria was my first civ scenario... honest. But, I have to admit that I'm not exactly new to game design.
I've been making video and computer games for the past 16 years.;) And in all that time, the thing I'm most proud of would be my Moria scenario. Hopefully, I'll be even prouder of my next scenario, which is coming along nicely.

Aha!
I knew an old hand when I saw one!
Good to hear there are other computer industry people on CFC.
:goodjob:

Nemo quit...one reason i hear is because he's made all scenarios and there's nothing new for him to do and he couldn't get his scenario "Blitz" to work.
John Petroski well i heard he's making Up the Deadly Boot II :)
not sure....

I heard that about Boot II as well, and I talked to him about it in an email or two, but then he doesn't respond now :(

He hardly ever responds to emails. you gotta catch him at apolyton whenever apolyton is working ;)

Damn shame about the Captain,
he could have gave the BoB scenario a rethink or just began a new one.
I can't understand how people could get sick of CIV!
But everyone has got their circumstances, I guess...
The Capt left a great legacy, but I hope Petroski will come back!
His comments about the UK's performance in WW2 used to make me laugh!

"Snotty Montgomery"!
JP, What a guy!

Apolyton is far more stable then CFC these days :p

when I first found ACS. But attrition has taken its toll. There are still some of the giants around;

Allard Hofelt

Stephan Haertel

Bernd Brosing

Carl Fritz

Cam Hills

Tecumseh

DarthVeda

Warvoid

it's still a vital community, and people come and go. Some will, doubtless, be back.

Not Anymore...
Now Apolyton is slow, bug-ridden and less than a shadow of what it was...
BeBro still posts there regularly though...
Eivind, Jim Panse, Pablostuka. I wonder what they are up to these days....

Eivind, Jim Panse, Sarsstock, and Academia are on my Skype friends lists. The first three never log in anymore (at least not under those login accounts, and haven't for years), and Academia does occasionally, but for some reason I'm uncertain of, never responds to greetings (I don't think I've offended him, that I remember) - he didn't even respond when I sent him a message on Skype announcing gapetit's ToT revision of his Falkland War scenario.

Wonder what prompted techumseh to resurrect this thread after 15 years of being dormant.

The community as a whole is dwindling; it is not just scenarios. GOTMs are down to a few players as well. Many of us are middle aged now and do not have as much time for playing. Maybe it will pick up again when we reach retirement!
