Where do you think the Aztecs might be? I've drawn a banana-shaped area where they might be, based on the jaguar warrior. The jag has a movement of 2, and in this difficulty, I believe they start with that unit. It's been 6 turns (12 turns of movement for the jag), so, I believe the Aztec border lies somewhere in, or around that area. The green area being the most likely spot, since the jag was traveling from west to east into our line of sight.

Ok, think of it as a circle. The Aztecs would be in the center of that circle. Then there's a radius of 12 tiles all the away around. They could be anywhere inside that circle, most likely, in the center.

Just my unprofessional opinion... i'm thinking due south, maybe slightly southeast. If you use your own diagram and imagine that with the green and yellow area as the top portion the circle originates directly below us, they're likely to be over there.

We have many civs for the ai. Dont forget this... We could be massively put onto a small island ;-)

To the jag: Does it have 2 moovement accross mountains? Maybe they are nearer than we think if there are mountain areas to the south. They could also be further north.

Or, scarcly placed on a huge continent. I've seen that happen.

They could also be north of us and have walked up to our lands in a "bow" or "banana shaped" fashion!

Hmmmm....stupid comment...did we check the box displaying the "place acording to historical location" or are the civs placed at random? Why are the aztecs our neighbours when Germany and Mesoamerica are so far apart? anyways....
I think they are to the west of us, dunno why, but in my games the AI doesn't do loop-da-loops or circles or zig-zags, it follows something, a river, a mountain chain, resources or other units. Since CT mentioned he came from the west towards the east, that direction seems likely, but anyway, why don't we follow the little jag?...

Hmm.. ok. :)

I'm playing a game with the same starting criteria and the neighboring civs started *very* close (on what is looking to be a pangaea landmass). If we find resources even a little ways away I'd be tempted to found a city just to grab them, despite the initial corruption cost.

i think our best bet would be to look directly south......he is below us.....around the mountains, if there is another mountian range below ours with grassland or whatever between we might be splitting the gap, so i say try south..........and i wouldnt be surprised if we have more neighbours, especially if its a continent

It would have to be atleast a continent. Look at the first demogame where we played Persia. Babylon and Egypt started some distance away from us. The Iroquois didn't even start near the Aztecs. (I'm assuming culturally linked starts was on then). Maybe the game's algorithm is a bit off there...

I'd have to assume Chieftess is right. We must have at least a continent, if not a Pangea. Also, again I'd say south-southeast for the Aztecs, and maybe west for any other neighbors we might have.

True, even archipelagos can have 1 huge continent (GOTM9). :)
