Hi folks. Just joined today and am a bit of a beginner at all this, but was wondering if anyone could tell me why I can't find, or where I do find Uranium? Everybody is demanding it, no one has it and I can't find it!!
Thanks

Uranium is not something you can see in the game. Certain cites will provide it as a possible supply for cargo. When they do, try to build a freight quickly, becasue it can go away pretty fast also.

It usually happens later in the game and your larger cities. Keep checking your trade advisor. They will tell you whenever a city supplies it.

I can never get any cities with Uranium either. Oh, well. It's not like you desperately need it. U can still build nukes without it!

Uranium becomes available with the aquisition of Nuclear Fission; nonetheless, it is often the rarest of commodities, seldom being available in more than one or two cities per turn. As the Duke of Marlborough points out, when available it should rush-built immediately; the resulting trade route should always cover the cost of the rush build plus yield a substantial profit -- assuming that the commodity doesn't change. One should try and check the Trade Advisor (F5) for availability every turn. Finally, it has been observed that upon the completion of the Manhatten Project, the availability of Uranium roughly doubles.

Checking the trade advisor (F5) is always a good idea, But Uranium does not always show up there. I have done the F5 bit (diety, MPGE) and had no uranium, but, opening a city screen and clicking thru all my cities, I did find a city with uranium. To be sure of finding all your available uranium, you need to cycly thru your city screens.

I did not know that the Manhatton Project increased the availability of uranium, but it is not worth it. The same turn someone completes the project, the A.I.s start throwing nukes at you. and that takes the fun out of the game, unless one is in a particularlly bloody frame of mind. :nuke:

True on the Trade Advisor. As for Manhatten, A.I.s still require the Rocketry advance to build Nukes. If you can reduce the A.I. threat before they acquire the Nukes, then Manhatten is a less problematic issue.
