Deity large epic, Goddess of Nature, authority. Where would you settle our second city? As you can see the third settler is on the way too, so if you feel like it you can include the third one aswell :)

I'd consider the mountains next to horses southwest of Vienna and the mountain next to jade and snow south and slightly west of Cusco. Those hill snow tiles are actually good for Inca. With this terrain I'd have taken Progress, not Authority. You've got room for lots of great Inca cities. But what do I know, I play on Emperor.

I know, progress was a better choice, I just prefer authority :) Thanks for the input, I think I will settle a city by the horses as there are four in that stack and it is just a good spot in general

Heinz, it all depends on your game plan. How many cities are you planning to settle before you go on the offensive against Austria? Or what is your early game plan? That would influence my decision where to settle in this situation.

I would put them either side of Cusco. The first directly east & the other more NW. I suppose you are going on the offensive so wont really be an issue, but I don't like my capital completely in the front line, & like to surround it if possible. For a large map that is ridiculous how three capitals are so near each other.

Can I also ask what map you are using.

Communitu that is included in the 12/3 version I think. Yeah the only issue is that I have goddess of nature, so I need heavy mountain cities asap to get a religion. It really sucks because the spots that will be most contested are without many mountains, whereas most of the mountain spots probably will remain available for a bit longer, but then I might miss out on a religion..

I’m like a dog chasing cars, I wouldn’t know what to do if I caught one, you know, I just do…things.

Heinz, the important thing for Goddess of Nature is to get your cities growing fast, so I would encourage you to look at the map for settling locations where cities could grow reasonably quickly to three population and that haven 6 mountains in range (I rarely get 4 population quickly enough in my later cities to matter for founding). I wouldn't worry about settling the contested locations because due to your ability to fire from mountains you should have no problems getting your ranged units the range promotion in your first war with Austria (where you needn't push for Vienna immediately, take your time to get your units promoted well) and once you have 4-5 units with that promotion, you should have absolutely no problem conquering flat-land cities.

I agree on this one. Second city should definitely go for the mountains, it will cover your religion and get you a fast growing city that can help support the rest of your civ. You could consider that wheat area to the northwest with the stone and the luxes for your 3rd city, but the second needs to be in the mountains to get things moving.
