Where's the popup for Palace Improvements

Ever since I downloaded the 1.17f, I no longer have the popup asking for improvement on my palace. It feels disgraceful to see my stone cave palace in mid 1200s A.D.

I do not know whether it is because of the patch because as soon as I downloaded it, I changed the preference (turned down every animate move), and maybe it is because of this that this is going on.

So, if someone can help me how I can turn on the popup for palace improvements, that would be greatly appreciated.

This is one of those known bugs that will probably never get fixed because nobody can reproduce it at will. The palace improvements accumulate but you never get the pop up that tells you to start building them. Use the hot key to get to the palace view (one of the F# keys, don't know which one offhand) and if you have unbuilt improvements, you will be able to build them from this screen.
